I have been a body worker for many years and qualified as a Holistic Aromatherapist with the North School of Aromatherapy. I continue to find different tools to help bring about a sense of peace and joy, within myself.
The practice of yoga, through the physical, scriptures and meditation, complimented my already existing practice of spiritual reading from Reiki, from my years training as a Reiki Master and meditation practice. I found it combined well with the physical activity of Pilates where I am a qualified Matwork Teacher, from the Body Arts and Science International School.
I became a yoga teacher after completing my yoga qualification, with the British wheel of yoga. I offer space for others to either have a massage, meditate, walk, do yoga to bring yourself into the moment.
My classes are for everyone, so you can find your own peace and joy, within each moment.
In my free time I enjoy walking, wild swimming and climbing, as a way of connecting and being present in nature.
I also have an interest in healthy eating and eating right for yourself, to help your body, mind and soul to be fed.
I enjoying looking at nature to help ourselves, either by using herbs, essential oils or natural ingredients as much as possible.
Style & level of classes I teach
A beginners yoga class is a gentle slow flowing class, that will help you with the fundamentals of yoga, breath, movement and focus.
During this class, you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of different postures and movements, with plenty of alternatives, to help you move in a way that is suitable for your body.
These classes are prefect for those who are new to yoga, or have not done any physical practice for a number of years.
An improvers yoga class, is based mainly on Hatha yoga where you will experience a quicker flow from posture to posture, or postures held for a longer number of breaths.
In these classes you will have the opportunity to explore more advanced postures and how you can make adaptations for your body in them.
The pace within the class is suitable for building strength and can also increase heart rate.
These classes are suitable for those who have been practicing yoga for a number of years.
Yin / Restorative
Yin / Restorative yoga is a very gentle class, which is a combination of yin and restorative yoga.
In these classes you will hold postures from 3-10 minutes, with plenty of cushions and blankets as support, enabling you to focus on your breath and focus the mind.
These classes are suitable for those who are anxious or stresses, as well as those who have injuries or need time to slow down. These classes can help calm your mind and body, giving you time to deeply relax and restore.
Yin Yoga is a passive practice, which involves variations of seated and lying postures typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia.
Restorative Yoga typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends.
During these classes, essential oils may be burned, gentle music and inspirational quotes may be read.
Please bring a pillow or cushion and a blanket for this class.
