Happiness can be achieved through training the mind
Natalie Wiltshire
RGN, BWY Dip. CNHC Registered.
My Yoga teaching is informed by my background in spinal injuries, first as a Registered Nurse at the Royal Free Hospital, Londonin the late 1980s, and then as a qualified RSA personal fitness trainer in the 1990s. I lead from a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to the Yoga practitioner be they a beginner or an advanced student. I trained as a Yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY Diploma holder) 15 years ago and am also an In Service Training (IST) tutor for the BWY. I have completed the BWY Meditation and Personal Development Modules Levels 1 and 2 which qualify me to teach Meditation and Mindfulness. I organise and participate in on-going support and supervision via Meditation and Personal Development Module 3. I am currently organising a Pranayama Foundation module and undertaking specialist Yoga Nidra training. I am the BWY Warwickshire County Representative and registered with the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I lead weekly mixed ability Hatha Yoga sessions in and around Rugby as well as organising day workshops, occasional Saturday morning sessions and yoga retreats for the serious student.
As a result of my background in spinal injuries I have a special interest in those suffering from acute and chronic back pain with whom I work to remobilise the spine and in the long term build sufficient strength and mobility to prevent relapse. At the other extreme I have had considerable success building a diligent Yoga programme into elite athletes’ training schedules with very positive results on performance.
Style & level of classes I teach
I teach traditional mixed ability Hatha Yoga classes influenced by my nursing qualification.
